To explore the feelings of the arts, from the point of view of a filmmaker and other visual artists, in relation to the world we are in today.

With the irony aside...I realize there is more discussion here about music then film. There is more of a battle being painted between the music that is exceptec and the art from a visual artist. Or even a feirce description on music and how it can conjure up really hurting remarks. Maybe that is because with visual arts you actually have to look at...where music is more mystical in the sense you don't need a center source to enjoy it...it can just float around out there in the crowded airways of signals galore whether you want to hear or not. Maybe that is why you don't hear someone just ignoring music of whatever genre, and why people see a need to express their thoughts no matter how hurtful they may be.
But from the artist perspective, especially from a visual artist who approachs sound and music differently then a "musician" we don't necessary make a song to take a stand for anything, rather we make the song to adequately protray what is in our soul and who we are...expressing the person that God made us to be (approaching it the same way as a painting). We are not making the music for anyone else and if "musicians" are offended by what we do that is not the problem of the visual artist, seeing how we can not make everyone happy (that is impossible), there will always be one or two completely disgusted...telling you are creating an abomination of art. And frankly if a "musician" can not appreciate a song, that a visual artist makes, that does not necessarily "follow the rules" but are doing the best they can with what they know. Then I have only one question? Who made you the be all end all of music? Who gave you the authority to say anything? And if your music means that much to you, to the point you can not enjoy or encourage the music of a visual artist, then you are placing way to much focus on your music...and expecting your music to save you instead of God himself. And that my dear musician is not good, not of God. And just really makes things difficult for us visual artists starting out in music.
So remember everyone is different, we all have a unique personality and spirit, and it is that uniqueness that makes art so. limitless, with no "rules" in terms of expressing oneself artisticly. The music of a visual artist is still legit, even if you don't like it, that is your opinion and only your opinion.
One very frustrated visual artist.
